Heather
Heather, otherwise known as Miss Heather, is a New Jersey native that began her journey with AKT in the summer of 2019. She is certified to teach all four AKT Modali-
ties: Dance, Bands, Circuit and Tone. She is ecstatic to bring her passion for dance, fitness and longevity training to AKT Verona.
Heather began her formal dance training as a kid at a studio in her New Jersey hometown. She spent years commuting to New York City to study and take class at Broad-
way Dance Center, Peridance and Steps on Broadway. There, she was able to explore and study her passion for street dance styles, taking classes in street jazz, jazz funk, house and
hip-hop.
Heather went on to graduate college with several degrees and certifications in dance.
She has taught and choreographed recreational and competitive programs for many institutions all over the tri-state area, as well as the in the Midwest, including William Paterson
University and County College of Morris just to name a few. She also acts as a judge for
regional and national dance competitions.
Heather is trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, and modern dance.
She has worked with many professional artists and talent including Alicia Graf Mack, current dance director at The Juilliard School. She is a current member of a professional tap dance
company, #Taplife, working closely with director of the company, former TapDog, Anthony Lo Cascio. Not liking to fall into one category, she considers herself an independent dance
artist.
In addition to her dance endeavors, Heather also lends her voice as a professional MC/Host for shows, parties, and dance competitions.
While Heather enjoys dancing, performing, and hosting, her real passion is teaching and educating. She is often caught saying that being “Miss Heather” is her favorite and
most important job. Her goal is to always bring quality dance education to any student who wants it, all while spreading the joy of dance artistry.
